Sidney began his acting career after he joined the American Negro Theatre. His professional debut came in 1950 when he starred in the film noir, No Way Out. Nevertheless, his major breakthrough came five years later, when he starred as Gregory Miller in the film Blackboard Jungle. Death Rumors

The veteran actor has been subjected to a death hoax in recent years. Nevertheless, Sidney has in the past lost close family members following a catastrophic disaster. In September 2019, Hurricane Dorian struck the Bahamas causing a lot of wreckage and destruction of property.

Additionally, many people lost their lives. It was reported that 23 family members of the celebrated actor went missing during the disaster and it was feared that some had died.

Sidney is not new to health challenges. In 1993, the veteran actor caught up with prostate cancer. Luckily, Sidney’s condition was detected early and he was able to be treated using surgery. He is one of the many cancer survivors alive to date.
